6th Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service

A day on... not a day off!

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. once said,
"Life's most persistent and urgent question is: 'What are you doing for others?"

The MLK Day of Service was called into action in order to honor the legacy of the civil rights hero and to implement into modern day society the element of community service and engagement his actions emphasized.

Many students embarked on service among the community today. The sites visited included ARF, Cornerstone Center for the Arts, the Boy's and Girl's Club, Second Harvest Food Bank, Minnetrista, and Habitat for Humanity.

SPRING 2013 HAS BEGUN!

The Program Coordinators (many pictured above) are ready to get the year started with their weekly programs and volunteers!

The Volunteer Recruitment Fair was held on January 16th, 2013 in the L.A. Pittenger Student Center Ballroom. At the end of the day, we had a volunteer count of 603. At yesterday's Program Coordinator meeting, the volunteer count was 648! The activism among the Ball State community is off to an incredible start!

Monday is the Martin Luther King Jr. National Day of Service... a day ON not a day OFF! There are only a few volunteer spots still open. One opportunity is located at ARF and the other is a children's education program. They last from 11:30 until 3:30.
